The recent setting up of Sudha Dairy (supervision was managed by Dr. Binod Kumar) has completely transformed the social milieu in Katesar. Sudha Dairy Booth has a channel for milk collection from farmers and a channel for sales & distribution, and this enterprise has completely transformed the social milieu and thought process triggering the beginning of a reverse movement to Katesar and nearby villages.
Kusum Foundation has started a small library that enables villagers to have easy access to newspapers, periodicals, magazines, and books. The library has a telephone and video cameras for better supervision & management.
Katesar village received power supply for the first time in the year 2004 after the persistent efforts of Kusum Foundation.
A branch of a major public sector commercial bank, The Central Bank of India opened adjacent to Kusum Foundation in village Katesar, Chapra, in Saran district, Bihar.
The villages generally lack medical facilities and to mitigate this problem, our Foundation organizes periodic doctor visits to the villages. This helps the villagers seek basic diagnostic treatment at a nominal fee or no fee.
We have arranged multiple short-term English-speaking courses to help the villagers feel more confident and get better career opportunities.
Foundation also conducted a few Health care camps.
